Holding up the weight of life | The life of a 60-year-old aunt hangs by a thread, and the "air emergency" saves the danger

One day in early December at 11:37 noon, the drone carrying the hope of life successfully took off, spanning 50 kilometers, and delivering blood to Pingyao District (Yuhang No. 3 Hospital) of Hangzhou No. 1 Hospital Group in less than 1 hour.

Sudden shock, drone emergency blood delivery

Back in the morning, the whistling ambulance galloped all the way. Aunt Chu, 67 years old, was sent to Yuhang No. 3 Hospital because of a car accident. The emergency medical staff who received 120 calls in the early stage were fully prepared. After receiving the consultation, they quickly opened venous access for Aunt Chu, performed ECG monitoring, and improved relevant examinations. After a doctor's physical examination and corresponding examinations, it was found that Aunt Chu had multiple injuries and a relatively serious unstable pelvic fracture, and she was in critical condition. The hospital immediately launched an in-hospital trauma rescue plan. The medical department organized a rescue team led by the emergency/intensive medicine department, orthopedics, vascular surgery, ultrasonography, radiology, blood testing and transfusion teams and other departments.

"Director, the patient's blood pressure dropped to 65/40mmHg, the heart rate reached 120 beats/min, and the hemoglobin was as low as 41G/L." Hemorrhagic shock, critical! During the treatment, Aunt Chu suddenly went into shock. "Quick! Emergency blood transfusion! Open deep venous access! Prepare for pelvic external fixation! Contact interventional experts to assist in interventional hemostasis", medical orders were issued quickly, and multidisciplinary experts acted quickly and carried out rescue in a tense and orderly manner.

Fu Jun and Chen Yonghua, deputy directors of the Emergency/Intensive Medicine Department, believed that Aunt Chu was in hemorrhagic shock due to a large amount of active bleeding caused by a pelvic fracture. For a patient with massive blood loss, blood transfusion is the source of her life. However, the blood bank in the hospital is insufficient to prepare blood that matches the blood type of Aunt Chu. On the one hand, there are patients whose blood pressure continues to drop and their vital signs are extremely unstable. The blood bank staff urgently contacted and activated the drone to transfer blood from the Zhejiang Provincial Blood Center, which is 50 kilometers away. In less than an hour, the drone carried 8 units of red blood cells and 1210 ml of plasma to the hospital to ensure that the patient had sufficient blood. The longest blood delivery route in China built by the Yuhang Third Hospital once again played an important role in the passage of life in the air.

Green channel in the air, escorting life

In order to enable scientific and technological innovation to better help medical institutions improve their services to the common people, as early as March 2019, Antwork cooperated with Zhejiang Provincial Blood Center to carry out an emergency blood delivery test by drone, which verified the fully automatic delivery by drone. Fast delivery capability for blood instant delivery scenarios. Compared with the traditional blood distribution method, the traditional blood distribution method requires a lot of manpower, and the traffic conditions of the ground roads during the distribution process are more complicated, and the transportation time limit is very uncontrollable, which is not conducive to the emergency blood demand in the first aid. By deploying the Antwork delivery drone medical operation network, blood products can be delivered at a fixed time through unobstructed air channels, simplifying the transportation process and greatly improving the transportation efficiency.

At present, Antwork drone blood distribution routes have covered The Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine , Yuhang Second Hospital and Yuhang Third Hospital. In addition to meeting the hospital's daily and emergency blood needs, it can also protect special public emergencies or major natural disasters. emergency needs.
