On March 6th, the opening ceremony of the Hefei UAV medical material transportation route was held at the West Campus of Anhui Provincial Women's and Children's Medical Center.  Yuan Fei, member of the Standing Committee of the Hefei Municipal Party Committee and Deputy Mayor of Hefei, Yan Shaohe, member of the Party Leadership Group and Chief Engineer of the Provincial Department of Transportation, Wang Hong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Civil Aviation Administration of Anhui Branch, Hu Xiaoyu, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Central Blood Station of Hefei, Tang Zhiguo, Secretary of the Party Committee of Anhui Provincial Maternity and Child Health Care Hospital, and other leaders from relevant government and hospital departments as well as the head of Antwork Technology attended the ceremony.

Tang Zhiguo, the party secretary of Anhui Women and Children's Medical Center, made a speech, affirming the leading position of Ant Financial in the medical supplies transportation market. He said that Anhui Women and Children's Medical Center needs to allocate blood and related products more than one thousand times a year, with a total mileage of about 70,000 kilometers, facing great pressure. The opening of the drone air transportation route has opened up a new path for medical supplies transportation, which is a bold innovation and exploration of Hefei in combining medical and health services with high-tech. It is a new challenge for hospital management ability and level, and it is also a beneficial breakthrough for improving medical security system and emergency treatment ability. 

The opening of this route marks a new transformation in Hefei's medical rescue services. The West Campus, Headquarters, East Campus and the Downtown Blood Station of Anhui Provincial Women's and Children's Medical Center have set up drone landing sites, with a total of six routes connecting the above sites to form a low-altitude medical transportation network in Hefei for the dispatch and transportation of emergency blood, emergency drugs and samples.

In terms of efficiency, take the route from the East to the West as an example. The ground transportation between the two hospital districts requires a driving distance of 23.1 kilometers even with the connection of expressway, and it takes nearly 40 minutes to drive during the noon time on weekdays. The transport mode of drone can reduce the transportation time to about 25 minutes. Through the transport of drone, it can greatly improve the transportation speed of medical supplies, shorten the emergency response time, and strive for more precious treatment time for patients.

Zhang Lei, the founder and chairman of Antwork Technology, said at the ceremony that he was grateful to the Hefei Municipal Government for promoting this route.  Such rapid deployment and application represented the "Hefei speed" and also injected great confidence into the enterprise. During the event, the Provincial Maternity and Child Health Hospital, the Central Blood Station, and Ant Financial signed a three-party cooperation agreement to jointly build a low-altitude medical transportation network in Hefei. The Baohe District Government and Ant Financial signed a strategic cooperation agreement to establish a regional operation headquarters in Baohe District, responsible for the operation of various flight scenarios throughout Hefei.

Previously, Antwork has launched a catering delivery service using drones for rope descent in Luogang Park, Hefei, which has been repeatedly reported by CCTV. The newly opened low-altitude medical route is a reflection of the close cooperation and joint efforts of the government, medical institutions and technology companies.
